Obituary

Our beloved Cooper Reed Mardesich returned to his Heavenly Father on August 21, 2008. He was born on June 23, 2004 and we love him and miss him very much. Cooper was a friend to everyone who knew him. He loved to ride his bike and his scooter and to be outside. He loved 4 wheeling with his family. He considered his three older brothers Logan (6), Garrett (11) and Ivan (13) his favorite buddies.

His favorite color was blue. He had brown eyes like his dad. He enjoyed family vacations especially at Disneyland, Hawaii, and at a neighbor’s cabin. He loved animals especially Sam the family cat. He loved to go on walks with his mom and dad, Ted and Sharon Mardesich. He liked to have dad take him to the kiddie pool, and he loved to be around mom, no matter where she went.

He was so easy to please. He was the youngest of the nine cousins in the extended family with lots of aunts and uncles. He loved to tease his grandma’s and grandpa’s who love him so much. We are all so happy to have him for the time we did. His favorite song was Jesus wants me for Sunbeam. We’ll think of him often when the sun beams down on us in brighter days. Our family thanks all of you for your kindness and love.

Funeral service will be held Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Saratoga Springs Stake Center, 587 S. Saratoga Road, Saratoga Springs, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Stake Center from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at the Lehi Cemetery. A family fund has been established at Bank of American Fork under “Fund for Cooper Mardesich.” Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.

We heard the story of Cooper from our cousin "Chris Culley" right after the accident occurred! We have not been able to get your family out of our mind ever since. Many of tears have been shed by my husband and I, not to mention our four small children. We feel so much love and compassion for your family and we have never even met. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. I wish he was still "here" for YOU, but isn't "heaven" lucky to have him? That is the only way that I can think of it!!
With love,

What a sweet little boy. I can tell by the pictures that he had a fun-loving personality! I happened to be jogging by right after the accident happened that morning. Since then, I have had your family in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

My son just happened to be in Logan's new 1st grade class and they were becoming friends. He was the first one he mentioned when I asked him who his new friends were. We talked to him about what happened in case it was brought up. I think he put it all together when he came home from school and said that it was Logan's birthday yesterday (Wednesday) and that it was also the day his brother died. He has been concerned and at 6 doesn't realize he has literally been sick with worry.
We have been praying for your family. We admire your forgiving heart. I hope my son will be able to continue being Logan's friend this year at school.
God bless you,
The Stephenson Family

Our son is also in Logan's new 1st grade class. He too, has been so sad for Logan since last week. But they are only 6yrs. old and so sensitive. I was in the school when Logan was picked up the morning of the accident. After he left the school, Mr. Martin made an anouncement for the teachers to check their emails, he had emailed telling teachers of the accident. I can't begin to tell you how many people were touched by this. Teachers, lunch ladies, aides and students had tears. Before kids left for the bus that afternoon, Mr. Martin made another anouncement over the intercom telling the kids that there had been an accident, etc. Let me tell you, I have never before seen kids walk so somber and quietly out of there classrooms to the buses. When kids were coming off the buses, they were handing there parents the letter from Mr. Martin about the accident. I saw moms cover there mouths and start crying. This happened at 3 bus stops I had passed. Our family has shed many tears for you and your family. We just wanted you to know that we have had you in our thoughts and prayers ever since the accident. We can't begin to imagine your pain. We are so very sorry for your loss.
From the pictures, he looked like a kid full of personality. May you find comfort and peace knowing you will be together again.
May God Bless you and your family,
The Chappell's

The funeral service was lovely, you could feel such an incredible spirit there. I was touched deeply by the Cooper's father, who spoke at the service. What great family! Although I didn't personally know Cooper, his spirit and life have made a lasting impression upon our family.

I have been so sad about your family's loss and have come here often, but haven't known what to say. When I got the phone call telling me what had happened, I really couldn't believe it. It didn't seem real. Your family has been so amazing in our community and I just want you to know that you have been in our prayers. May the Lord comfort you in this time of trial. Deepest sympathy, Holly Hargraves

I don't know your family, but I know one of your neighbors. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I look at pictures of Cooper and think of my son. They are the same age and look a lot alike. These young children in our lives are so sweet and bring us so much joy. I am thinking and praying for your family everyday. Your family has touched ours. I know that the Lord loves and comforts us through painful times. I hope that you are finding peace in knowing that our Heavenly Father has a plan and that he loves us. Cooper is in a place of rest now and is watching down on you all.

Tomorrow(Sunday 21st) is one month since Cooper's Accident. How we miss him. We are so greatful for the community we live in. Thank you for remembering our Cooper. He truly is our little angel. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him. Ivan, Garrett and Logan are doing well, but have their moments when we notice a empty chair at the table or seat in the car. Time will heal I know. I just miss him so much. Thank you everyone for your comments. I do read them often.
